The ultrasound technology used in plastic welding, operates at frequencies of 20 – 100kHz. The frequency is produced by a generator that transfers high voltage to the converter. This, using piezoelectric materials, converts the electrical voltage into mechanical vibrations of the same frequency.

Mounted the booster in series with the converter, induces amplification in the amplitude of vibration. The sonotrode is the part that transfers the vibration to the welded piece, where through the application of pressure it creates the melting of the material due to the excitation of the molecules of the material to be welded.
